Hi, my name is Martin. Allow me to introduce myselves.

Thinker. Feeler. Writer. Psychologist. Coach. Entrepreneur. Full Spectrum Human.

I contain multitudes. (So do you.) Depending on where we meet, you might encounter very different versions of me.

In essence, I would describe myself as a continuum between a professional Labrador puppy and a walking set of Cards Against Humanity.

Do I contradict myself?
Very well then I contradict myself,
(I am large, I contain multitudes.)“

– Walt Whitman, Song of Myself

How many
people is this guy?

Some days I appear as the spiritual punk version of Mr Rogers, or as a mischievous child playfully dismissing the seriousness of life.

The psychologist in me delights in the intricacies of the human psyche, while my rebellious researcher raises his middle finger towards the reductionist’s attempt to squeeze life’s mystery into biochemical impulses.

My geeky academic somehow creatively collaborates with my fiery poet. My stage-loving, zero-fucks-given flamboyancy lovingly dances with my introverted shyness. While my grouchy pensioner angrily wields his walking stick at the pre-apocalyptic, post-modern consumerist world full of swipe-swipe zombies, my fierce spiritual warrior delights in the transformational potential of humanity’s shadows coming to light.

And in the centre of it all, my essence embraces the unfolding of each moment with compassion, curiosity, and humour.

For life represents a circus and theatre, so serious and moving, tears never stop streaming, so hilariously funny laughter never ceases – all at once. In this eternal moment.

Do I contradict myself? We certainly
hope so.

For a long time, I wrestled with what Walt Whitman famously expresses in his Song of Myself: “Do I contradict myself? Very well then I contradict myself, (I am large, I contain multitudes).”

And one day I finally landed – I also walk around as a living, breathing collection of multitudes, and my contradictions do not represent a flaw, but a magnificent feature. What a relief!

A mix of experiences – improvisational theatre, creative writing, breathwork, meditation, psychedelics, psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and other approaches – have opened my eyes and heart to the vastness within me. Through many years of practice, I have learned to relate to my inner parts with kindness and love. This practice has sparked a renewed sense of compassionate acceptance towards life and myself, or shall I say, my selves.

Through my work, I aim to help spread this practice of accepting all of me, and all of you. Calling all our parts home, the ones that feel scared or overwhelmed, ashamed or angry – you are big enough to house them all.

Together, let’s open the door wide and invite them in.

My story in a nutshell.

I was born on a sunny Wednesday afternoon in southeast Austria. By the time I was 18, my parents had died, so, like any self-respecting orphan, I chased after enlightenment as an answer to all my existential questions. Spoiler: thousands of hours of meditation later, enlightenment still eludes me. Or does it?

Anyway, while practising and teaching meditation, I moved around quite a bit – Dublin, London, New York, Seattle, Berlin, Bali, and many places in-between. My earthly career began with graphic design and branding. Thanks to my stubborn clients who neither knew what they wanted nor appreciated my “genius” advice, I became interested in the human psyche to better understand why my clients acted so – well – “unprofessionally.” This curiosity led me into coaching, consulting, and psychology.

Some might have called it consulting and business coaching, but really, I was more of an entrepreneurial midwife. As it happens, best practices often weren’t the best; people just needed someone to hold their hand and listen to their fears and worries about changing pricing structures or logo colours. It turned out that supporting people’s processes and accompanying them through the liminal space came quite naturally to me.

At some point, my unprocessed childhood caught up with me. (Yeah, meditation has benefits, but surprisingly it didn’t soothe my inner toddlers missing their mum and dad.) So, I dove into “the work.” Along the way, I launched a couple of businesses, some of which even flourished.

Combining my fascination with the human psyche, my love for meditation, and my innate capacity to explore the darkness within, I eventually embraced my apparent talent as a people whisperer. This led me towards Transpersonal Psychology and Internal Family Systems (IFS). Today, my transformational journey continues, as I support others on theirs.

These days I am based out of Bristol in the UK; however, I also spend a lot of time in Asia, mostly in Bali, Indonesia.

The End. (Almost.)

Skills, Tools & Expertise.

Just as I embody a sweet and spicy mix of characters, so does my work. My tools and expertise represent the culmination of two decades of training and experience, blending diverse practices with my core focus on Transpersonal Psychology, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Nonviolent Communication (NVC).

Whether in personal or professional contexts, my passion lies in exploring the rich tapestry of inner multiplicity and navigating the complex dance between desiring change and simultaneously fearing it.

By cultivating deep, compassionate, and trusting relationships with our parts, internal conflicts can gradually resolve, allowing for more ease and flow in our lives.

With my work, I accompany people through their transformational processes, holding space for them so they can practise holding space for themselves.
